Balkan Winter Raptors
Bulgaria is a country that is fast moving up the agenda of the serious wildife photographer in Europe as it offers a glimpse of how rural existence and nature have managed to co-exist hand in hand, and this is our second trip of the year for it's early winter offerings. Our central and southern Bulgarian destinations offer the chance to wait patiently for some incredible close up experiences with wild Golden Eagle, Goshawk and Griffon Vultures (and the elusive Black Vulture too if we're lucky like last year) as they visit specially prepared hides. We also plan a visit to a fantastic hide for Raven photography: over 40 birds visitng all day! Whilst this diversity of raptors is the main focus there will be an additional chance for some time concentrating on some of the local small bird specialities too which will hopefully include Hawfich, Sombre Tit and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker.
