Magyar Autumn Magic
There have been some stunning images from the central European jewel that is Hungary in recent years and some innovative approaches to hide construction and design too, and this trip based in and around the Hortobagy National Park in the east of the country will give ample opportunity to experience why. The area is a prime stopping off place for thousands of Cranes as they migrate south for the winter, and in uniquely positioned hides we will be able to photograph them at day time feeding and bathing sites, and then at dusk and dawn at a roost too - with an overnight stop in a cabin by the lake there too! A purpose built reedbed pool hide offers fantastic opportunities for Pygmy Cormorant, Herons, Kingfisher, Egrets and Ducks and a classic infinity drinking pool with a whole host of species including the stunning Hawfinch very regular visitors. All the hides offer unbelievable visibility as they involve photographing through special reflective glass. With the autumn migration in full swing, this is the chance to enjoy the last warmth of summer photographically with a truly varied few days.
