LEVEL 3 to 4

Spring Wetland Birds

Photographing birds like Avocet, Black tailed Godwit, and Black-necked Grebe takes years of preparation to achieve in the UK but in Holland this mouth watering list of birds can be photographed in a short duration trip. With several years of running this trip and with the additional input of Edwin Kats, leading Dutch nature photographer and an integral part of our tour leading team, we'll have excellent opportunities with these and many other species besides in what will be a well-packed trip - at this time of the year everything is preparing for the forthcoming breeding season. We will be spending time on the beautiful island of Texel, photographing the elegant Avocets which have just come back to the island - excellent close-ups can be obtained and as we will spend 2 nights on the island we will be working in the best possible light. Other highlights of the trip are the chance to photograph at a fabulous site for Black-necked Grebes in full breeding plumage, stunning spring flowering meadows where Black-Tailed Godwit are amongst the wading bird highlights and with Purple Heron, Great Crested Grebes, and more besides this really is a wetland Spring photographic treat.
