Summer Mediterranean Birdlife

We've been photographing in Bulgaria for a number of years now and have built up an excellent relationship with our local experts, and in our opinion it offers an excellent variety of photographic subjects and settings alongside value for money in comparison with the traditional hotspots such as Lesvos. From a combination of permenant waterhole and portable individual hides, we will look to target the spectacularly colourful Bee-eater, Hoopoe and Roller alongside the secretive Wryneck, Red-Backed Shrikes and other meditteranean specialities, but at the same time images of some of our declining UK songboirds too - Corn Bunting and Linnet for example.  Add in the cute ground nesting squirrels known as Sousliks in early summer meadows and you can see that this is a trip offering variety and quality as well as a chance to be ahead of the crowd with your images and their origins.
