Winter Wildfowl 2010
January saw a three day break to the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust's Caerlaverock reserve and surrounding areas. The weather was typically cold for the time of year, but we enjoyed some snowy (& misty) conditions and fabulous birdlife. Whooper Swans, Barnacle Geese and Black-headed gulls all made an appearance for our cameras, and the trip was topped off by a winter Starling roost at a location nearby.
“Friendly yes. Helpful, certainly, I liked the very low key way that help was given and it was easy to ask very simple questions and not be made to feel stupid.”
“We got a lot more one on one time than I would have expected.”
