Winter Wildfowl January 2009

January 2009 saw a 3 day break to southern Scotland and a base camp of the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust's Caerlaverock reserve.  The weather was mixed (typical of the season) but one glorious evening gave some stunning sunset shots of the Barnacle Geese heading out to the Solway Firth from our favourite vantage point.  A great evening with a Starling roost, a full day session with the Barnacle Geese and Whooper Swans and some productive some time spend feeding and photographing Yellowhammer, Robin and Blackbirds meant an enjoyable and productive trip.

"The trip was well in line with my expectations and I was more than satisfied with the photographic opportunities - especially the Geese: my main target"

"The holiday allowed me to be flexible and focus on what I wanted to, with tuition available where necessary. The photographic opportunities were more abundant than I had expected!"
