 Yellowstone Winter 2012

This was our second trip to Yellowstone National Park in the winter.  It had been a very mild winter by Yellowstone standards this year but this certainly helped in our goal of photographing the elusive Wolf.  We got the opportunity to photograph this beautiful creature along the Lamar valley because of the mild winter a lot of Elk was using the valley to spend the winter months which was perfect for Wolf activity.  For the second part of the trip we went into the interior of the park and got a real taste for the brutality of the Yellowstone Winter.  One morning the temperatures dropped to around -30 degrees which gave us an excellent opportunity for photographing ice encrusted Bison.  The highlight of the trip was the close encounter with a beautiful red Fox.

Also read our Blog for an additional overview of the trip.

"The holiday exceeded high expectations with regards to photographic opportunities; very well prepared and run."

"Yellowstone is just one of those places you have to visit."
